We have stayed at Tamarack Lodge many, many times, and it remains one of our absolute favorite places in Mammoth Lakes. The old world charm, the peaceful mountain setting, and the exceptional gourmet restaurant make it a standout. If you love cross country skiing, hiking, mountain biking, fly fishing, or trail running, Tamarack Lodge is truly the place to stay, because it's situated at the trailhead. It is one of those rare finds that feels both historic and deeply welcoming, and every stay has been memorable for us.
About This Property
This historic mountain lodge sits on the shore of Twin Lakes, surrounded by forests, mountains, and ski terrain. Built in 1924, Tamarack Lodge preserves the charm of that era while offering seasonal bike and boat rentals. In winter, you can cross country ski right out the door on miles of beautifully tracked trails. The property is only one mile from downtown Mammoth Lakes, making it both peaceful and convenient.
